Raw steel production dips in US
US raw steel production fell slightly on-week but remains massively up on-year as the market recovers from 2020’s Covid-19 pandemic, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Raw steel production in the week ended 12 June reached 1.834 million short tons at 82.6% capability utilisation, down 0.3% from the previous week, when utilisation was 82.3%, but up 44.2% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 56.8%.
