Raw steel production slides on-week
US raw steel production ticked down on-week in the week ended 18 September but remains up massively on-year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US raw steel production stands at 1.874 million short tons at 84.9% utilisation, down 0.4% from the previous week, when utilisation was 85.3%, but up 21.9% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 68.6%.
