Rebar spot prices in US firm up

Domestic rebar spot pricing in the US tightened up this past week by $20/short ton, as construction activity begins to heat up for the spring. This latest increase in spot pricing follows a $50/st price hike by Nucor, Commercial Metals Company, and Gerdau earlier this month.
A Northeastern distributor tells Kallanish that another price hike by domestic mills is likely to come in April.
