Rio Tinto establishes decarbonisation cooperation with Shougang
Australian iron ore miner Rio Tinto and Shougang Group, China’s leading steelmaker, have signed a memorandum of understanding for the research, design and implementation of low-carbon solutions in steelmaking process, Kallanish learns from Rio Tinto.
The two parties agreed to focus on areas like low-carbon sintering technology, blast furnace and basic oxygen furnace optimisation, and carbon capture and utilisation (CCU).
