Russia stainless steel production increases in January-March
Russian stainless steel production increased in the first quarter, says national special steel association USSA.
Volumes amounted to 41,075 tonnes, up by 0.8% on-year, Kallanish notes.
Production of hot rolled flat steel was up by 42.5%, cold rolled flat steel by 5%, welded pipe increased by 8.4%, and primary billet by 45.9%. Output of long products decreased by 10.4%, seamless pipe by 16.8% and wire by 29%, USSA says without breaking down tonnages.
