Russian Railways increases rail procurement in 2017
Russian Railways (RZD) procured 1.06 million tonnes of rail in 2017, up 12% on-year. The majority of this was supplied by Evraz, Kallanish learns from Russia’s national rail operator.
Evraz supplied 719,800t of rail to RZD last year, followed by Mechel with 329,000t and 7,500t from new entrant, Kazakhstan’s Aktobe Rail and Section Works (ARBZ) (see separate story).
