Russian iron ore, pellet production fall in 2023
Russia decreased production of iron ore concentrate in 2023 to 90.9 million tonnes, down by 4.4% on-year, Kallanish notes from national statistical service Rosstat data.
Last year, 56.4mt of iron ore sinter were produced, up 1.8% on 2022.
In December 2023, around 3.8mt of iron ore pellet was produced, down 6.5% on-year and 2.2% less than November 2023. Full-year production amounted to 46.7mt, which is 2.3% lower than 2022.
