Russian minister underplays demand drop, steelmakers claim losses
Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade expects a decrease in demand for steel in the domestic market in 2022, but it will be by a single-digit percentage, says ministry chief Denis Manturov.
“Some adjustment of domestic demand for steel is possible, including downwards, but this is definitely not a double-digit figure," he said on state television. “It will probably be by about 9%.”
