Sail exports record tonnage in January
Steel Authority of India (Sail) reported a 35% on-year surge in sales in January to 1.66 million tonnes, with exports reaching a monthly record of 182,000t.
The sales growth follows a 47% and 36% on-year increase in shipments in December and November respectively. Deliveries in the ten months through January thus increased 10.8% on-year, the firm says without providing a tonnage.
