Sail increases deliveries but profitability squeezed
Steel Authority of India (Sail) suffered from subdued demand and squeezed margins in the first fiscal quarter through June (FQ1). Saleable steel production nevertheless rose 1% on-year to 3.65 million tonnes.
Revenue dropped -7% to INR 14,645.19 crores ($2.06 billion) and net profit plummeted -87% to INR 68.84 crores.
