Sail maintains profitability despite slight decline
Steel Authority of India (Sail)’s fiscal-year-through-March-2020 (FY20) consolidated revenue fell -8% on-year to INR 61,664.16 crores ($8.18 billion). Net profit dropped -10% to INR 2,120.71 crores.
Sail says it was the largest Indian domestic crude steel producer in FY20 with output of 16.15 million tonnes. It also mined 32.41mt of iron ore, fluxes, coking coal and non-coking coal.
