Saudi local billet falls, imported rises
Saudi Arabian scrap prices are holding firm due to low scrap collection. However, due to the need for liquidity, merchant billet producers decreased their offers for rebar grade (4sp) billet by SAR 25-40/tonne ($7-10.6) to SAR 1,980-2,000/t ($528-533) ex-works.
Only a few deals were concluded by Riyadh buyers, at SAR 2,000/t delivered from Riyadh suppliers, and at SAR 2,025/t delivered from Dammam, notes Kallanish.
