US scrap yard flow improves, prices hold
Prices for heavy melt scrap continue in a holding pattern as yards in the Mid-Atlantic region report seeing an uptick in volume, Kallanish reports.
“We’re getting a good flow at the yard, but there’s not been much change in prices for heavy melt. We are still buying at $180/short ton,” says one source. “There’s been more up-and-down movement in shredded and sheet iron. Overall, prices have been down for about six months.&rdquo…
