Severstal improves efficiency, quality with equipment upgrades
Russian steelmaker Severstal has carried out a major overhaul of the metal finishing shop No.1 (TSOM-1). This produces thick sheet and high-strength rolled metal products at its Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant (CherMK), the company tells Kallanish.
The scope of work included the repair, replacement and restoration of roller furnace units, a roller-hardening machine, guillotine shears, sheet straightening machines and a sheet transport system.
