Severstal increases own electricity supply
Russian steelmaker Severstal generated a record amount of its own electricity in 2022 at its flagship Cherepovets Steelworks (CherMK).
It amounted to 4,675 million kWh, up by 2.1%, Kallanish notes.
Last year, with a total electricity consumption by the plant of more than 6 billion kWh, the share of the company's own electricity amounted to 77.4%, which exceeds the previous year by 4.9 percentage points.
