Severstal adds silicon removal to dynamo steel line
Russian steelmaker and miner Severstal has launched a silicon removal unit at the continuous pickling unit No.4 of its Cherepovets Steelworks (CherMK), the company tells Kallanish. The capacity of the dynamo steel production line fed by the pickling unit is 70,000 tonnes/year.
In July, Severstal resumed production of dynamo steel in order to increase the utilisation of rolling capacities at CherMK (see Kallanish passim).
