Severstal to supply bimetallic steel for icebreaker construction
Russian steelmaker and miner Severstal has won a tender for the production and supply of 1,363 tonnes of bimetallic rolled products – 100 sheets measuring 3,200 x 12,000mm. This is for the outer skin of the bow of the hull of the Rossiya nuclear-powered icebreaker, the company tells Kallanish.
The nuclear-powered ship is being built at the Zvezda shipbuilding complex in the Primorsky Krai state corporation Rosatom.
