Shandong province completes 2017 steel capacity cut targets
China’s third biggest steelmaking province Shandong has completed its 2017 annual steelmaking capacity closure goals. It has removed 1.75 million tonnes/year of iron and 5.27m t/y of steel capacity, according to the provincial Economy & Information Technology Committee. The local steel industry overcapacity elimination working group has audited the equipment removals and announced the success of 2017 capacity cuts campaign.
