Shandong completes 2016 capacity cuts
China’s Shandong province has completed its target 2.7 million tonnes/year of iron and 2.7m t/y of steel capacity eliminations so far this year (see table), according to the Shandong provincial Economy and Information Commission.. Shandong produced 66.19 million tonnes of crude steel in 2015, and over January to September Shandong has seen 52.74mt of crude steel output, an increase of 5.57% year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
