Sheet prices jump in US market
With raw materials prices on the rise and shortages of pig iron due Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine, sheet prices have begun to increase in the US market.
US hot rolled coil pricing jumped this week to $1,250-1,300/short ton, ex-works mill, from $1,050-1,200/st last week. HRC lead times are reportedly pushing out to 5-6 weeks. Cold rolled coil and HDG base prices have also moved up to $1,650-1,750/st this week.
