Europe sees wire rod shortage
Independent buyers and processors of mesh-quality wire rod in Europe are suffering from a shortage of input material that has been caused by a variety of factors.
The shortage is already being further down the production chain at the level of rebar cut-and-benders. “There seems to be an international shortage of wire rod, and I won’t know why; it maybe has to do with the coronavirus,” a manager of a bending shop says.
