SMS upgrades bloom caster at Nanjing Steel
China's Nanjing Iron & Steel (Nanjing Steel or Nangang) has commissioned a modernised bloom caster with higher product quality and increased production flexibility, supplied and constructed by SMS.
The four-strand continuous bloom caster at Nangang's No.2 steel plant is now able to produce 800,000 tonnes/year of bloom, Kallanish notes.
