Some Italian longs prices decline in quiet market
Some Italian long steel prices are declining due to the continued lull and low sales volumes in the market. Sellers expected resumption of some activity in September after the longer-than-usual August stoppages but there is now a general wait-and-see attitude prevailing, Kallanish notes.
Distributors say their financial results are “not bad” or “acceptable”, enough to cover costs and investments, but nobody will make large profits this year…
