South32 temporarily suspends GEMCO on cyclone
Australian miner South32 has temporarily suspended operations at the Groote Eylandt Mining Company (GEMCO) manganese ore mine due to Tropical Cyclone Megan, Kallanish notes.
"The safety of our people and the community on Groote Eylandt is our priority. Severe weather conditions continue to impact the Eylandt and we are closely monitoring the situation," the firm says in a statement.
