Spain’s scrap consumption falls in April

Spain decreased ferrous scrap consumption by 14.6% or 143,000 tonnes on-month in April to 833,000t. According to the Spanish steelmakers' association Unesid, this was a 10% on-year drop. Four-month scrap usage was 3.29 million tonnes, representing 84% of total crude steel production in January-April 2023.
