Spain’s September scrap consumption, crude steel production rise

The Spanish steel sector saw scrap melting and production increase for a third consecutive month in September, Kallanish notes. Both activities remained only slightly lower compared to the same period a year ago. Spain’s ferrous scrap consumption rose by 24.8% or 154,000 tonnes on-month in September to 626,000t.
