Steel Dynamics to acquire Zimmer
US steel producer Steel Dynamics Inc (SDI) plans to acquire 100% equity interest in Mexican recycler Zimmer, S.A. de C.V., Kallanish reports.
The total cost of the acquisition was not disclosed, but SDI notes that the deal will be funded with SDI's available cash-on-hand.
The acquisition comes as a part of SDI's strategy to secure raw materials for its new $1.9 billion flat-roll steel mill in Sinton, Texas, which is scheduled to begin production…
