Steel futures dip on supply pressure, inventory rebound
As steel production has continued to rise and inventories also rebounded amid sluggish demand, Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures dipped further on Thursday, Kallanish observes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded January 2023 rebar contract closed CNY 19/tonne lower than Wednesday at CNY 3,722/t ($533/t), while the same contract for HRC lost CNY 22/t on-day to CNY 3,778/t.
