Steel futures gain on output restriction rumours

Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures continued to rise on Tuesday, as rumours of production restrictions once again disrupted market trends, Kallanish notes. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2024 rebar contract closed at CNY 3,506/tonne ($484/t) on Monday, up CNY 14/t on the prior trading day.
