SunCoke plans development of pig iron manufacturing plant
US-based coke producer SunCoke Energy plans to construct a pig iron manufacturing facility to supply US Steel, Kallanish reports.
A tentative, non-binding letter of intent outlines the principal terms for a 10-year agreement between SunCoke and US Steel. Under this agreement, SunCoke would acquire the blast furnaces at US Steel's Granite City Works and then build a new granulated pig iron production facility at this location.
