Surging flats offset Turkey's June longs export slump
Turkish steel exports rose 10.5% on-year in June to 1.6 million tonnes, and 26.6% in value to $1.3 billion, according to Turkish Steel Producers Association (TCUD) data monitored by Kallanish. Imports fell -2.6% to 1.2mt, but rose 14% in value to $1.1 billion.
Flats exports rose 42.3% to 561,000t, but longs shipments fell -4.6% to 658,000t. Semis exports surged 65% to 54,000t.
Flats imports declined -10.7% to 646,000t and longs imports fell -4% to 113,000t.
