Tangshan Guofeng fire hampers steel production
Guofeng Iron & Steel in Tangshan's Fengnan district suffered a fire at a sinter plant on the afternoon of 17 November. A sudden transformer substation trip caused the fire which consumed the conveyor belt at a sinter plant.
The most recent update reveals the whole sinter conveyor belt was ruined, and five 450 cubic metre as well as two 1,780 cubic metre blast furnaces were forced to stop production temporarily as electricity supply was cut off.
