Thyssenkrupp, Salzgitter hit worst in plate cartel case
The lion’s share of the fine of €646 million ($719m) the German cartel office imposed on plate-making mills for price-fixing between 2002 and 2016 will be paid by thyssenkrupp. A spokesman confirmed the figure of €370 million was set aside by the company in the autumn as a reserve for a cartel fine expected by the end of the year.
