TMK boosts stainless billet production for nuclear industry
Russian pipemaker TMK’s Volzhsky Pipe Plant (VTZ) has begun production of 360mm square billet from 08X18H10T grade stainless steel.
The semis can be used for the manufacture of long products intended for the nuclear industry, the company says.
The first batch of new products with a volume of 137 tonnes was manufactured in December in the electric steel-making shop of VTZ for further rolling at partner enterprises, Kallanish notes.
