Turkey boosts steel production in January, surpasses Germany
Turkey demonstrated the highest monthly steelmaking production results in the last 21 months in January, registering 24.7% growth year-on-year to 3.2 million tonnes, according to worldsteel data monitored by Kallanish.
Turkey’s pig iron production correspondingly increased by 23.1%, reflecting the growth in steelmaking, to 905,097t from 735,100t in January 2023.
