Turkey's first-quarter finished steel consumption dips, output rises
Turkey's first-quarter finished steel production rose on-year, supported by flat steel output, while consumption decreased, driven by a decline in longs use, Kallanish understands from the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
Finished steel production totalled 9.2 million tonnes in Q1, up 1.2% y-o-y as flats output grew 30% to 3.3mt and longs production went down -9.8% to 6mt, the association says in a statement.
