Turkey's first-quarter finished steel output, consumption rise
Turkey's finished steel production and consumption increased noticeably in the first quarter, led by flat steel use, Kallanish learns from the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
Total Q1 finished steel output rose 11.7% year-on-year to 10.3 million tonnes. Flats production grew 16.7% to 3.8mt and longs production was up by 9% to 6.5mt, the association says in a statement.
