Turkey's January-May scrap imports from EU surge
A surge in intake from the European Union drove Turkish scrap imports up in January-May, offsetting the decrease in shipments from CIS countries, Kallanish learns from the Turkish Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD).
Turkey's five-month scrap imports stood at 8.03 million tonnes, up 11.1% year-on-year. The overall average value of these imports grew 48.3% to $2.18 billion, the association says in a statement.
