Turkey’s Kardökmak commissions new forged steel investment
The $5 million forged steel investment made by Kardemir subsidiary Döküm Makina has been put into operation.
The facility plans to produce 20,000 tonnes/year of forged steel. The 2,500t press machine will primarily forge wheels and axles for railways and later manufacture rolling mill rolls and tool steel, Kallanish notes.
The facility will serve important sectors such as defence industry, transportation and energy in the industrial ecosystem.
