Turkey's August crude steel output rises on-year
Turkish crude steel production rose 13.3% year-on-year to 3.2 million tonnes, supported by scrap-based output, Kallanish learns from a statement by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
Compared to July, however, August's produciton was down -4.9%. The month-on-month decline is due to the Kurban Bayram holiday, according to the association.
EAF-based production increased 19.3% y-o-y while iron ore-based production climbed 1.9%.
