Turkish domestic scrap stable, pressure on imports grows
Turkish mills have kept their domestic scrap buying prices unchanged since last week despite the weakening of the lira versus the dollar, Kallanish notes. Imported scrap prices, meanwhile, remain under pressure amid supply outpacing demand.
There were only a few mills inquiring about scrap on Wednesday. On the other hand, the availability of offers from multiple regions is increasing the pressure on scrap prices, which were already following a downtrend.
