Turkish iron ore imports drop, India new source
Turkish iron ore imports plummeted 68% on-year in December 2022 to only 435,890 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) figures monitored by Kallanish. A year earlier, they had been 1.35 million tonnes.
Brazil and Sweden supplied 243,705t and 165,005t respectively in December 2022, more or less unchanged in Sweden’s case but down 70% in Brazil’s. South Africa supplied nothing versus over 173,000t a year earlier.
