Turkish iron ore imports, prices rise in January
Turkish iron ore imports inched up 2% on-year in January to 946,312 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. Their average value was $93.7/tonne versus $88.7/t in January 2018.
Intake from Brazil doubled on-year to 680,683t, but imports from Sweden fell -22% to 190,023t. Ukraine was third-largest supplier with 49,503t, up 11%. Intake from Russia, meanwhile, plummeted -84% to only 26,102t.
