Turkish rebar exports, prices slump in March
Turkish rebar exports slumped -21% on-year in March to 418,869 tonnes, but they rebounded from an eight-month low in February, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. The average value of March exports was $479.5/tonne versus $560/t in March 2018.
Turkish mills continued to rely heavily on their stalwart markets, Yemen and Israel. Shipments to Yemen surged 93% on-year to 104,456t, while those to Israel grew 18% to 51,269t. …
