Turkish scrap demand freezes amid lower price expectations
Turkish mills’ scrap demand remains almost non-existent this week as buyers expect scrap prices to fall further.
No deep-sea bookings have been confirmed so far this week. Although there is a rumour of a European sale at $371/tonne cfr Turkey, this is confirmed to have been done earlier for a very prompt shipment. The latest confirmed bookings were realised at $363/t and $367/t cfr respectively for HMS 1&2 80:20 from the EU last week.
