Turkish scrap price softens on fresh US deal
Turkish mills’ appetite for scrap purchases remained poor throughout last week, although the market had expected to see stronger activity. Despite mills’ purchases for June-shipment cargoes being largely incomplete, they achieved lower scrap deal prices.
Only two deals were confirmed last week. Following the US-origin sale at $384.5/tonne cfr Turkey for HMS 1&2 80:20 on Monday, the same supplier sold the same grade at $383/t cfr on Friday.
