Turkish semis exports surge, but prices considerably lower

Turkish semi-finished product exports surged 254% on-year in January to 187,183 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. Their average value, however, was $442.4/tonne versus $505.3/t in January 2018. Exports of HS code 7202711 billet comprised 135,202t, of which 63,486t went to Morocco versus zero a year earlier.
