Turkish steel imports slump in August
Turkey's finished steel imports declined in August, after rebounding the month before, Kallanish learns from the Turkish Steel Producers Association (TCUD).
Overall steel imports dropped -19.4% on-year in August to 1.16 million tonnes and were down from 1.62mt imported in July. Semis imports plunged -52% to 237,000t, flats imports rose 3.6% to 737,000t and longs imports decreased -25% to 108,000t, the association informs in a statement.
