Turkish wire rod exports surge in December
Turkish wire rod exports surged 50% on-year in December 2018 to 248,378 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. Their average value was $531.8/tonne versus $547.3/t in December 2017.
Exports of round rod below 14mm diameter comprised 167,491t. The Netherlands was the main buyer with 52,325t, up 78% on-year. Intake from Belgium, Israel and Libya reached 21,327t, 19,528t and 18,471t respectively. A year earl…
