Ukraine increases steel, pig iron production in May
Ukrainian steel companies increased production in May despite the Russian-Ukrainian war, unfavourable global market conditions and logistical problems, according to national steel association Ukrmetallurgprom.
Last month’s crude steel output amounted to 583,000 tonnes, up by 86.3% on-year and 1.6% compared to April, Kallanish notes. Output of pig iron also increased by 53.8% on-year and 10.8% on-month to 603,000t. Rolled products output was up 31.7% on-year …
